Not Building an Optin List Equals Wasting Your Time

That's a powerful statement as it relates to internet and affiliate marketing. But if you are trying to make money online in internet and/or affiliate marketing and you are not building an optin list, it is very likely that you are indeed wasting your time.

There are many things that are important to establishing an affiliate marketing online business, but list building list is probably is to be at the top of every marketer's priorities.

If your objective is to develop a strong online business you must find customers. In the online business your customers are the people that you have access to and can promote your products to. If you don't have customers, you cannot make sales. If you don't make sales, you cannot make money online. It really that simple.

That is why building a list is so essential - it is your list of potential customers. At least it is a list of names and email address that you have access to. And since they have opted in, you are able to contact them and let them know about your products.

When you send an email to your optin list, you are advertising your business. You may send some emails that are mainly content; you may send some emails that are advertising one of your products or a product you are an affiliate for; or your may combine these two concepts.

In all of your emails to your optin list you are advertising your online business. Some call this branding yourself. The idea is to get your online business before people so that someday they might become customers and you will have success in your efforts to make money online.

There are other ways to get customers. You could rely on customers finding your online business because of your search engine optimization tactics. And that will bring some customers and is something that you will want to do. However, you will find that SEO will not bring results as fast as list building.

Other methods could be pursed, but you will find that almost all, probably all, entrepreneurs that are successful in internet marketing work hard at building an optin list. One reason for this is that an optin list is somewhat like a newspaper.

How so? Well people opt in to receive the newspaper and some will read the ads and buy something. The same is true with your list of subscribers. You can delivery your emails to your list daily, weekly, or as frequently as you choose and some of your subscribers will read and buy.

That is also why almost every website or blog that is developed for affiliate marketing will have an opt in form on it. The affiliate marketer knows that even if the visitor does not buy during the visit, if he will fill out and submit the opt in form, there is potential to convert him into a customer through a future email. But if he does not subscribe he likely will not be a future customer. Building an optin list is a sure way to insure that you have the possibility of advertising to people over and over again.

Building an optin list is the mainstay of internet and affiliate marketing and you may indeed be wasting your time if you are not building one. If you have not done so already, and you are interested in having an online business do some research on this subject.

Try to find someone that is successful in internet or affiliate marking that is not building an optin list. Likely you will not be able to. Instead you will find that they all use methods to attempt to get you onto their optin list. They want potential customers and so do you, so start building an optin list today. Your success depends on it.
